World of Rabbits-Netherland DwarfListed in: Rabbits
Netherland Dwarf Rabbits were first developed early in the 1900s in Netherlands. They were created by breeding a Polish Rabbit with smaller wild rabbits. Over several decades of selective breeding, a small rabbit with good pet qualities was created. These are only used as pet or show rabbits due to their diminuitive size. Their dwarfism results in a tiny rabbit complete with tiny ears. They look like a "baby rabbit" even as adults. Members of the World of Rabbits-Netherland Dwarf maintain websites providing valuable information about nutrition, housing, breeding, genetics, and photographs that are useful for everyone including breeders, showers, and families looking for a small pet rabbit. May I encourage you to surf this webring to begin your research into this rabbit breed?
