In this ring find female parental units, be they grannies or mommies, who somehow find the time, energy and focus to write with kids and/or pets underfoot (yes the male parental units count as both kids and pets). It has been proven that women multitask better than men. We prove it every day. Pictured: a detail from "Street Scene" by Giorgio Conrad (1827-1889) depicting one of the jobs of a momwriter, perhaps one who has been unduly distracted from her craft. In the NavBar: a detail from James Whistler's 1971 portrait of his famous mother, Anna McNeill Whister, about whom little is known but who, for all we know, is plotting out a mystery while posing for her son.
